While talking to her, I was watching the TV and noticed that Pippi was on HBO... so I sat there for a spelll and watched TV. She called me about 4 wanting to know where I was and told her walking out the door... ! The deal was she was being induced that morning... so I thought what's the hurry!

Meet Copper

Photo taken by: Robin Inge
This is Dustin's new BEST FRIEND Copper. He got him for his birthday and this is the first weekend that they have been apart. Let me tell you, I'm not sure how Dustin is holding up, as he is on a Canoe trip with the Scout Troop 15 down on the Brazo's River this weekend, but it is hard on Copper.... and I both. He didn't want to sleep last night, so for the first time since moving to a new home, he actually slept outside. I couldn't get any sleep... he wanted to play and make noise all night. He made 1000 trips back and forth to Dustin's room. He'd sit in front of the door and watch and hope the door would open and Dustin would let him in. He don't know what's going on.

Thanksgiving

Well, this was originally posted last year! But I have such a wonderful family I wanted to share it again. My family gives above and beyond and I want them to know that I love them very much! This video is dedicated to Ronnie, Rosalee, Wenona, Michael, Dustin, Christian, Raegan and Madi. I love each of you very much and hope that you all know how very much you are loved and appreciated.

"Me"

So, it's been a few months since I stopped in and wanted to say hi to all my friends. If you take the time to watch this video, you will see life has been pretty busy around our house. Thanksgiving this year, really was special to me and wanted to share a little of why with you.

I began working on this video as a Christmas Present for Rosalee... as I worked on it, I realized just how much I had to be thankful for and just how lucky I was. This past year has been filled with ups and downs... but life has had a way of seeing me through. Recently I found a wonderful job that I truly love and enjoy.

Through in a wonderful family and what else could a person need. Raegan tells, everyone she is not reach, but she is wealthy. You know, she is right... she is! We all are! Most of us measure our wealth in $$$$.... well we are much richer when we stop and take account our familes and the small things we have. I have been blessed with wonderful children, nieces and nephews, my father and grandmother and now with a whole new family. I am very Thankful for what I have and couldn't ask for anything more.

While the world around us falls apart we should stop and thing about what we truly have and give thanks for what God has given us. Most of us spend our time worring about what we dont have and what everyone else around us has.

People spend there life making others around them miserable instead of taking the time to just appreciate what they have. Life would be so much better if we would just slow down and be thankful and appreciate what we have......

MONDAY!!!!

Well, class was full of information. My brain is in overload and have to study for my test tomorrow night. Work was uneventful today, which by the way is nice for a change. This is probably the first slow day I have had since Fall Registration. However, soon enough it will speed back up and kick into gear for Spring Registration. Can you believe it, 2010 is just around the corner. Where did the time go? Our annual Breath of Life Gala for Cystic Fibrosis is rapidly approaching as well. I sure hope that it is a successful one since our donations have not reached the goal yet.

Just want to send a special " I LOVE YOU"! out to Ronnie to let him know that I love him very much and miss him even more. I hope that you will be home soon...

Night all!

September 11, 2001: Remembering

That morning as I drove to school, I had just pulled onto campus and was driving pass the tennis courts when they announced over the radio that a plane had crashed into one of the Twin Towers in New York City. I really didn't know the devastation at that time. I walked into Fred Romanski's Research Class and mentioned in and no one yet knew what was going on. We just thought there had been a plane crash. As we went down to the library to start our assignments, we happened to pass Mr. Owen's history class. They were watching the events unfold on the local news. About the time, I stopped in the door way to see what was happing, the second plane crashed into the towers. At that moment I knew this was not just another plane crash. After class, I drove to McKinney for work at Chili's. I can say the silence inside the restaurant was chiling. I don't think I have seen that sort of emotion ever. Every table I had prayed, spoke to other strangers and asked if you were ok. My grandmother called me at work to make sure I was ok and to see if I knew what was going on. I remember feeling empty that day and not truly understanding the magnatude of the day's events.

The following photos are pictures taken from other photographers that were there on that horrible day in America's history. Please take a moment to remember those who lost their lives and the families of those lost. Let's also not forget those who survived that dreaded day and those who risked their lives to help those in need....

The atmosphere was so heavy. Everybody knew the weight of the situation. I was just trying to translate into film what I was actually feeling — horror and loss.
This was a whole other level of evil

It seemed so incongruous, an emergency worker with a small hammer, laboring in this vast destruction.

The destruction was total. It hadn't stopped at the last thirty floors, or the last ten. There was only this shell. You couldn't believe your eyes.

"life is not measured by the number of breath's we take, but instead by the number of moments that take our breath away"

Some of those moments are not always happy ones. We must never forget the events and lives touch or lossed on this dreadful day in America's history.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUSTIN

YOU FINALLY DID IT! YOU MADE IT TO BE A TEENAGER!
PHOTO TAKEN BY: Aunt Kristi shortly after birth
"Look at all that Hair"
Dustin was born on Sept. 9, 1996 at 8:55am at Wilson N Jones Hospital in Sherman TX. He weighted a whopping 8lbs 13.2 oz and 21 inches long. After his first week of life he started to show signs of something wrong, but no one could put there finger on it. The second week was spent in the hospital and at the end of that week still nothing. Beginning of week three he was sent to Children's Medical Center with a disorder called "Pyloricstenosis". It affected a muscle at the opening of the lining to his stomach which caused him not to be able to digest his formula. Buy this time Dustin barely weighted 6lbs. At the age of 2, he had his first Serious Asthma Attach which landed him in the hospital again on top of the many number of visits we had spent already.

However, the hospital visits didn't stop Dustin, he loved to play outdoors and love his Aunt Vickie and his Granny Cissy and Nana. He loved being outside and playing in the dirt like any other boy would. He was a handful.

Dustin Summer 2008
Dustin has grown into a fine young boy who loves to hunt, fish, build stuff, explore and just have fun. And still, he is a handful. Tomorrow he will be 13... the sign of the start of manhood, teen-hood, maturity! Dustin is a hardworker and usually trys his best at everything he does. Sometimes he has to have a little nudge here and there, but dont we all. Tomorrow is a little sad for me ...because my baby of 4 will be 13. WOW! That mean's I'm the mother of 4 teens too. UGG! Well, I guess that is what God planned!
Dustin, I want you to know that I love you very much. You and I have been through a lot together and we have come a long way. You have worked so hard this summer and I want you to know how very proud of you I am. I hope that you will always have that curiosity and drive that you have now. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something, because this weekend, building your fishpond, you proved that your very smart and when you set your mind to it you can do anything you want to. I love you with all my heart!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Dustin's Imagination

A few weekends ago, we went and spent the day with Rosalee and watched the Hotter 'N Hell 100. After it was over, everyone went and helped Papa clean out the fish pond in their backyard. While dumping the old water from the pump, we discovered that baby catfish had been hatched. So, Rosalee and Dustin began scoppin them up and putting them into a clean tub of water. Dustin being the inquisitive one wanted to know if they would grow in his fish tank. So he came home with 4. Rosalee told him when they got to big for his tank to bring them back and they would release them. That state triggered a weekend project for Dustin and a life time or worry for the rest of us, because when he gets a project in his mind, non of us are going to get any sleep till it is complete....

Friday night, while I was in my office working on homework and the boys were watching tv or doing what boys do, I could hear Dustin outside working and getting into something. I went to check and he was rock hunting back in the woods behind our house. So I left him alone.....
The next morning I woke early and went outside to see what the day was looking like and saw something strange in my yard....
(all of the stuff was either found at the house or in the woods)

4. CINDER BLOCKS: found in woods (new probably $5.00 each) total he has 4
5. WOODEN PALLET: PART of my dang porch.....to keep things off ground and getting wet

My SONS Imagination: Priceless

Dustin's New Best Friend

Well, let me tell you about the events of this last week and how this all came down to start with...
On Wednesday's we get a paper in the mail sorta like the news paper but not as big, not really a shopper either.
So I get an email from Dustin stating he found a Beagle for $50 or $60 dollars and he has $27 or $25. Wants to know if he can earn more? I told him that we would talk about it when I got home because I was busy at work. So in the mean time he picks up the phone and calls the owner of the dogs and finds out all the information he knows I'm gonna want.
When I get home he starts asking me a million questions. I told him we would have to wait and talk to Ronnie and see what he thought because I didnt know if it would be a good thing or not. While waiting to talk to Ronnie since he is at work in Nebraska, he sends his Granny Cissy an email.... this is part of the conversation....

Dustin: Granny I need to earn $30 dollars please.
Granny: So Do I!
Dustin: What? I found a Beagle and he is 50.00 I only got $27 or $25.
Granny: I'm at school talk later...
Dustin: I'm not trying to be Greedy or rude, but you know I can't get Pepe or Star back. And I need a new best friend. I will do whatever you need me too.
NOTE: Granny and Papa's car had just been put in the shop during this conversation. By the end of the last message, Granny told Papa he was gonna have to find a friend to ride with or walk. Wouldn't hurt him it was close. LMAO! She told me, by this time she was ready to go sell the house so he could have his dog. When I got home he already had everything lined out.
I told him that we didn't have a fence.... I came home to this.....! So there blows that excuse. He had went in the small wooded area behind our housing addition and acquired some thrown away fencing. TWO ROLLS! Please remember, this child is only 12.
<.............................................
So again I tell him I am waiting to talk to Ronnie when he isn't so tired at night.
He then proceeds the next day to call the owner of the puppies and ask him if he can hold them till Friday so he can see if he can earn enough money. The man tell's him yes! He then picks up the phone and calls my LANDLORD and works out a deal to pay out the pet deposit. (He's really serious isn't he). When I get home he has a not for me that states everything he did. Because I have school at night and by time I get home he is in bed. Again, I have not talked to Ronnie.... that evening I talked to Ronnie. He being the level head of the bunch says to me.... We dont' have a PROPER fence and he's not home to help put it up. He also says that Dustin should wait till Dustin can be at home during the day to work with him, because as a baby dont need to be shut up all day while we are at school and work. I AGREE! Needless to say when I relayed all the information to Dustin, it didn't go over very well. However, he didn't say another word about it.

Saturday comes along and Rosalee and Raegan come over for Dustin's B-day Party. Plans fell apart because all the pools in the area are closed. We foudn one in Burkburnette that was opened and we pile everyone in the cars and head that way. Told them between 2 and 3. We arrive at 2:30 and it is all locked up. UGG! So home we head......

The kids decided they like playing outside..... (whole other story.. will post in a bit). So Rosalee and I sit outside with the kids while they play talking. Our conversation truns to the puppy and Dustin. While talking Dustin comes and says this neighbor guy wants to give him a dog kennel. So we tell him to go check. By this time the guy decides he can sell for $60.00. ...........>

Rosalee and the kids go off to check on it and she comes back and her and my mom and I all start making plans. I call to check if they still have pups and they do. So we load the kids up and away we all head to Oklahoma to look at the pups..... I'm sure you can guess what happens.

We examine the puppies and talk to the man who has the pups and at the end of our time there, we all agree on taking one home. Dustin ask the man how much and he replies by saying: "How much do you have? I hear you have worked very hard, so that you could have one?" Dustin then replies: "Yes Sir!". The man say's "I am gonna make you a deal", and disappears into his barn. When he returns he has a puppy shot in his hand and informs us that this would make his second shot. We all say thank you! As we get ready to leave the man hands Dustin $20.00 of the money he just paied for the dog back and tells him to use it for dog food and the remaning two parvo shots he needs. Dustin smiles and shakes his hand and says thank you and away we head. Since coming home, I dont think that the puppy has been able to walk on his own, because Dustin and Raegan and my nieces and nephew have done nothing but carry him. This is the shot I took this morning while everyone was asleep. Please keep in mind that his grandmothers have given him a dog cage for him to sleep in, a big dog pillow which he loves.

NOTE: The pillow that the puppy is laying on is actually the dog pillow that BELONGS in the FLOOR!
