Well First, I would like to wish everyone a very "Happy Easter".

Earlier in the week, my mother told me about an email she had gotten regarding "Pine Tree's" and Easter.  The email said that when Spring arrives, the pine tree's begin their new growth and can be seen by the new sprouts at the top of the tree.

She then said the email went on to say that on Easter Sunday, the spouts open and form a cross.  I don't know how true it is, but I have take the photo above to show what the tree looked like earlier in the week.  I will update this a little later with another photo to see if the story is true.

"Easter Sunday"

Well, they don't look like I expected.  However, with the way the weather has been lately I wonder if the warm and cold temperature changes have something to do with it.  Judge for yourself!

DOGWOOD LEGEND

DOGWOOD LEGEND
Originally uploaded by maorlando
A friend on Flikr, posted this lovely photo of a Dogwood tree and I had to share as it brough back wonderful childhood memories. I lived across the street from the Parsons: James, Janice, Rhonda and Macky. Growing up, Rhonda and I were bestfriends. Each year during the summer they would take a family vacation to Colorado and they would invite me. Often times, my father would say no, but I would find ways of changing his mind, like going to my grandmother or great-grandmother and getting them to persuade him otherwise. LOL! As a parent now, I see issues with that, but it was still fun. On our trips to Colorado or anywhere for that reason Janis would have to stop and take mine and Rhonda's photo in front of each and every dogwood tree that we passed. Oh, would Rhonda and I grip. One particular day we had been hanging our heads out the window and our hair was horrid. Janis got that shot too. I wanted to post this in honor of my bestfriend Rhonda and her family as we have drifted apart over the years. But the memories of all the fun times we shared still exsist. Love you guys where ever you are....

Also, I wanted to share the ledgend of the Dogwood as I have never heard it before and thought it was truly beautiful. Thanks Maorlando for taking such a wonderful shot and sharing with us.
